Email: hooman@mrichard.ca
Hooman works at the intersection of design, placemaking and spatial analysis. He brings experience in GIS, 3D modelling, web-based mapping, space syntax, and public engagement to projects that support both urban and rural communities. Hooman also helps with interactive web maps and data-driven applications that support public communication, decision-making, and dissemination.
His work spans development proposals, planning studies, and design strategies that aim to create usable and meaningful public spaces. He has advised private developers and municipalities on planning applications, zoning, and site design. His recent projects include public realm concepts, housing layouts, and placemaking strategies rooted in spatial data. Hooman uses geospatial tools to test design ideas and communicate options with clients and stakeholders.
He is pursuing a PhD in Design and Planning at the University of Manitoba, where he studies the relationship between spatial design and well-being. He holds a Master of Urban Design and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning.
Outside of his research and practice, he explores cities and public spaces through travel, photography, and sport.
