As part of the CMHC Housing Accelerator Fund applications, an intense and highly detailed look at the applicant location’s current housing status and projected future needs for homes, backed by a demographic, economic and environmental scan, was required. M Richard & Associates was contacted by several interested areas looking to compile and apply for the fund.

Over the course of 2 weeks, MRA successfully researched, analyzed and compiled the applications for the Rural Municipalities of Piney, Montcalm, Stuartburn and the Municipality of Notre Dame De Lourdes. We used an integrated approach for the housing needs analysis, involving technology like ArcGIS for physical map development and visual land information gathering, with quantitative and qualitative research approaches. This allowed us to create highly detailed Action Items for all locations that would be accomplishable, tailored to the housing situation at need, and integratable into all their long-term growth goals.
