Winnipeg City Council has unanimously approved the long-awaited Fulton Grove development on the Parker Lands, marking the end of an 11-year journey.
The 19-hectare site in Fort Garry, bordered by the Southwest Transitway and the CNR Rivers rail line, will be transformed into a vibrant residential community featuring 1,918 housing units. The plan includes 23 apartment towers near Pembina Highway and a mix of townhouses, triplexes, duplexes, and single-family homes closer to Waverley Street.
M Richard & Associates Ltd. (MRA) played a pivotal role in advancing this project, providing expert advisory services to implement the Parker Lands Major Redevelopment Site Master Plan. This transit-oriented development aims to create a walkable, sustainable community that aligns with Winnipeg’s long-term urban planning goals.
The Fulton Grove project is expected to promote active transportation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and generate significant economic benefits, including job creation and increased tax revenue. Once completed, this redevelopment will provide modern housing options while fostering a community-centered, environmentally conscious lifestyle for current and future residents.
MRA’s collaborative efforts with Gem Equities, InfraCor, Morrison Hershfield, and John S. Wintrup Consulting Ltd. have helped bring this transformative vision to life.
With council’s green light, Winnipeg moves closer to realizing a landmark development that integrates sustainable design and urban growth.
