MRA was retained by the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin to prepare a secondary plan for strategic lands adjacent to the Emerson-Pembina border crossing. The plan outlines a transformative vision for economic development near the Emerson-Pembina Port of Entry, leveraging its strategic location along the Mid-Continent Trade Corridor. It envisions a transportation logistics hub with integrated commercial, industrial, retail, and community uses. The plan is a critical step to create jobs, attract investment, and celebrate the region's unique cultural heritage, including Indigenous history, as the first entry point into Canada from the U.S.
