The Municipality of Emerson-Franklin has unveiled a comprehensive Economic Development Master Plan to capitalize on the strategic location of the Emerson-Pembina border crossing along Highway 75. The plan outlines the creation of an Economic Development Zone featuring a logistics and industrial park with facilities such as cross-docking, warehouses, truck services, and retail amenities. Potential future developments include agri-processing facilities and hospitality services.

The master plan, supported by the Province and a dedicated master developer, positions the municipality as a key player in the Mid-Continent Trade Corridor. An innovative online Investors Portal highlights development opportunities and sector profiles, streamlining investment decisions.

Additional components include a Tourism Action Plan aimed at enhancing local attractions and boosting visitor numbers. These initiatives are expected to drive significant economic growth and job creation, both locally and provincially, while establishing Emerson-Franklin as a dynamic hub for trade and commerce.
